I’m Finally Gonna Do It This Year! I’m Getting My Affairs in Order!

Here we go!!! Off to the races in 2026!!! If you’re like me, each new year brings with it an encouraging sense of opportunity, a chance to get it right this time. All those things you meant to do, promised you’d do, but didn’t get around to… now, you’ve set your mind to accomplish! And perhaps one of those things is getting your estate planning affairs in order.

So Where Do I Start?

Contact our office to schedule a complimentary estate planning consultation. We have offices in Riverview and Plant City, or we can meet by video conference. There’s no charge to sit down and talk about your wishes, find out what you’d like to achieve, and then go over your options. We’ll get you on the calendar and email you our Estate Planning Questionnaire, which (1) allows you to begin thinking through your decisions and (2) helps us gather the information we’ll need to prepare your legal documents. Does a trust make sense for you, or do you only need a last will and possibly a ladybird deed? Are advanced directives (power of attorney, living will and health surrogate designation) also needed?

Then What?

After you decide what works best for you, we’ll let you know our flat fee to prepare your plan, and then we’ll schedule a follow-up meeting (usually three weeks or so later) to review and sign your legal documents. Before this second meeting, however, we’ll send draft copies of your documents to you for review. We’ll also work with you (or directly with your financial advisor) to properly fund and coordinate your various assets and accounts with your new estate plan.

Goal Achieved!

When you walk out of our office that second time, you’ll have the peace of mind that comes from knowing you finally accomplished that important task you’ve meant to complete for so long.
