Life Can Change Quickly; Don’t Put It Off Any Longer!

Not exactly sure why, but human nature typically causes us to put things off, either because they’re difficult to face, we think we have plenty of time, or life is just “too busy.” To some extent, we all fall for the “trap.” I recently had a major life event that brought things into sharper focus for me.
Each year, our family vacations on Anna Maria Island. We rent a house on the beach, and the whole family (kids and grandkids) spend a glorious, beautiful, chaotic week together. As I was carrying our luggage up two flights of stairs, I thought, “this is more difficult than it should be.” Long story short – I ended up at the hospital and several days later underwent quadruple bypass surgery.
I’m fine now (thank God), healing up nicely and looking forward to re-entering the “rat race” this week. But wow! Life can change quickly and things could have gone much differently. Even though I’m an estate planning attorney and I have all my planning documents in place, I began thinking of the things in my life that deserve greater attention, primarily my family and friends.
Helping my clients get their estate affairs in order by creating clarity, saving much time and money, avoiding conflict, and caring for and guiding loved ones after we’re gone – there just aren’t many things more important to me. Life is so much shorter (and fragile) than we realize, and we have a responsibility to make things easier and more manageable for our family when we’re gone.
Please contact our office this week to schedule your complimentary estate planning consultation, so you can learn how best to protect, provide for, and love your family well. You can contact us at (813) 244-7758 or Ross@RossSpanoLaw.com.
